REVIEW! - YOUNG ADULT BOOKS

YOUNG ADULT BOOKS

After last week’s Teen Romance Reviews, I kind of got sucked into the Young Adult genre — and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!

So this week I have some more teen stories, and while not all of them are classified as “romances,” they all do have a little bit of teenage love in the air, on the field, and under the water. 😉

Zoe Parks learned the hard way that nothing sticks the first time. Everybody is always looking for the next best thing. That's how Zoe knew minutes before she was supposed to be married that the first engagement was all wrong. If the first engagement isn't right, how can the first marriage, especially if it happens when you're on what was supposed to be your honeymoon?

Alex Pedroza knows that being the new guy on the team means putting up with whatever the guys dish out. That's why Alex can't go home without the wife he thought he was going to have when he returns from the offseason. REVIEW! - Terminal 19

Terminal 19

By L.R. Olson

"There are certain, special moments in our lives that we'll remember forever. Even when we're ninety and on our death bed. For some, it's their first kiss. Others, it's marriage. For many, it's the birth of their children. Important memories we cling to in dark moments, memories that give us strength and provide happiness at the times we need joy most."

NEW RELEASE REVIEW! - When Life Gives You Demons

When Life Gives You Demons

By Jennifer Honeybourn

Some people have school spirit.

Shelby Black has real ones.

Shelby Black has spent the past six months training to be an exorcist. Her great-uncle Roy―a Catholic priest―has put her through exorcist boot camp hell, hoping to develop her talent, but ohmygod, he still doesn’t trust her to do an exorcism on her own.

High school is hard enough without having to explain that you fight demons for a living, so Shelby keeps her extracurricular activity to herself. The last thing she wants is for her crush, Spencer, to find out what she does in her off time.

But Shelby knows how to keep a secret―even a big one. Like the fact that her mom left under mysterious circumstances and it’s all her fault. Shelby is hellbent on finding her mom, no matter what it costs her―even if what it ends up costing her is her soul AND a relationship with Spencer.

ARC REVIEW! - The Isle of Gold

The Isle of Gold

By Seven Jane

When I first was notified by NetGalley that Black Spot Books had granted me permission to read The Isle of Gold I was ecstatic! The cover and synopsis of this book pulled me in right away, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! I was also incredibly bummed because I had several other book review deadlines that I had already been given from other entities, that I had to put this one on hold for a while.

Finally, my reading schedule slowed down (however, only by a smidge!) enough that I finally could sit down with this high anticipated book! However, now that I've read it, I have mixed thoughts, feelings and reviews about it. Was it worth the hype I was giving it?

ARC REVIEW! - Beast: A Tale of Love and Revenge

Beast: A Tale of Love and Revenge

By Lisa Jensen

If you've been following me for a while, then you know that I am a HUGE Beauty and the Beast fan! So much so that I wish to (one day) name my daughter Belle, and for her to have a bug fluffy dog (who is, naturally, her best friend and protector) and name him Beast. (Yes, life goals are amazing in your 30s, but it's true!) So, tell me a book or movie about my favorite fairy tales is coming out, then you better sing me up, because you know I'm into that!…
